The Arc of the United States, in partnership with Comcast NBCUniversal, is providing scholarships for eligible families of color and low income households who reside in Comcast regions to receive free online access to The Arc@School's Special Education Advocacy Curriculum. The curriculum helps families learn to advocate for the services and supports their child needs.

The curriculum is an online, self-paced course that includes eight modules on the topics below.
 
 
-Building a Foundation for Advocacy
-IDEA and Early Intervention Services
-IDEA and Special Education Services
-Anatomy of an IEP
-Procedural Safeguards
-Section 504
-Educational Records
-Advocacy Skills
 
Each module is about an hour long and includes a pre-test, a listening guide, narrated videos, a post-test, and additional resources. This scholarship provides access to the curriculum for free. Access to The Arc@School's Special Education Advocacy Curriculum typically costs $99.

All accepted applicants are asked to commit to completing the curriculum by 11/1/2021.
